Why would one from Pennsylvania go to Upper Canada...?

During 1814 - 1850, what would be the reason that one from Americawould come up to Upper Canada?

Two important reasons. It was still possible to get cheap (sometimes free) land in Upper Canada at this time but very much more difficult in Pennsylvania. Some religious minorities found more tolerance in Upper Canada as did Blacks.

Lots of Americans established companies in Canada because it was cheaper than having them in America.
