I can't tell you how much I've struggled with the same thing. What I have found is that Green Tea is a great dietary filler, its healthy for you. It is to temporarily hold your hunger. Since I've done that its kept me full for a while.

Another suggestion you can do is if you are hungry try eating carrots, or cellery. Especially cellery it is really good for you when your hungry all the time because the stomach takes a while to break it down- therefore keeping you full longer.
hope that helps-- works for me.. but sometimes you just have to give in to really bad cravings- thats just how periods work.

You have my sympathy. As for me, I love and crave chocolate during that time. Maybe you can plan ahead and use sandwich bags to bag up small snacks and look forward to eating them at certain times in the day. Like a small bag of low-fat chips, a snack size candy bar, a piece of fruit, a handful of nuts. Just as long as you don't munch constantly, you shouldn't gain weight.

When you're menstruating, you're losing blood, and that means you're losing nutrients - especially iron. Try eating iron-rich foods to compensate, and I think you'll find you're not nearly so hungry. I'm past the point of having periods, thank God, but red meat always did it for me!

Some women get food cravings due to hormones.

One thing you can do is either eat something healthy or drink a lot of water. The water will fill you up and kill your appetite.

When you're on your period your body is working harder than normal. You feel hungrier because your body is using up a lot more energy than it regularly does and eating more food allows your body to have the energy to make up the blood you're losing.

Hormones. When you eat, eat apples - they satisify the crunchiness, thirst, and they are filling. Drink lots of water. Whenever you eat, drink two glasses of water before hand. Will fill you up.
