i keep on getting random crashes such as:
a fatal exception OE has occurred at 0028:col36421 in VXD AVG7rs(01) + 00002745 the current app will be terminated.

other codes include:
0283:01478861
0246:01747FB
0002:014F391L
0206:01478861
0246:014747FB

do you get the same 'blue screen of death' when you interact with other anti-spies/ security software? (such as ad-aware and spybot s&d) how do i get rid of the crashing?
i have windows 98 SE, 319 memory, intel celeron, compaq presario.
can tis mean that avg is incompatible with windows 98? should i install it on my windows xp?

I had problems with avg 7 on a windows 98 pc so I switched to avast. I didn't have any problems on xp with avg, but I switched to avast (www.avast.com) when avg didn't find and help me get rid of a virus, but avast did...

I have an older system that my kids use for games and surfing the net.it used to also randomly crash using windows 98,.so i put some more ram into it and installed XP,the system has never crashed since.If you read up on Win 98 there are tons of problems with it,last i heard 1800 issues even with all the updates. some computers just don't seem to operate well with 98 good luck

AVG should work on Win 98 machine as well as Win XP. Not sure what your problem is but your AVG installation maybe corrupted. You should uninstall AVG and reinstall it again to see if the problem goes away. If not try this free antivirus below, it works much better than avg or avast

Taht could mean that you have a virus that is messing with AVG.
