I got a green 4GB iPod Nano for Christmas and I was seeing if I could copy songs to the iPod from Windows Media Player. I had copied the songs from CD's I have. So I copied around 40 songs in 5 minutes, and when it was done, I checked the iPod to see if I could listen to them, and I couldn't! It still said what it said before when I got it, like when I select "Music" it would say "on-the-go" and then "when a song is selected, press and hold the center button......" Does anybody have this problem, and if so, how can it be solved?

you cant listen to WMA (windows media audio) on the ipod. once you put the songs into iTunes it should automatically convert them into AAC, which is what which is a format that the iPod can read. to do this, go in iTunes, go to file, then "Add folder to library". Then go to "My Music" and pick the folder that your music is in. The files will be put into your iTunes. The next time you plug your iPod into the computer, it will ask you if you want to update your iPod with the new songs. Select yes, and you should be good. =)

you need itunes. you can't copy songs from windows media player. go to itunes.com and download itunes. it might take a while, but that's what you need.
