It's growth politically or economically?

They are already a nuclear country. So the deal would not really give them much more political power in the world arena. In other words, it is nuclear but not a super power.

It may cause a lot more economic growth just due the power source.

Do you feel that India is really going to gain something from this?

Kindly think senate taken time more than India had taken to decide on this issue and they were more causious to choose upon this. Means some wrotten egg is inside it. Till all or majority members could understand and satisfied that US is going to gain more than India gaining, they have not allowed the bill to pass. In between to gain at a fast phase or to achieve unmatched returns they introduced more and more clauses. When India was stubborn they came down and decided to go as it is. Definitely it may pressure to disclouse all its secretes to US thro this

Mr. Manmohan Singh has not signed any important external affairs deal till now so he and his colouges are very keen to make some deals like Dravid calling Dhoni to bowl in a Test Match which they feel will keep them busy

Of course it would. The US wouldn't want India to grow as a nuclear super power as it would be against their interests. India's aspirations will be seriously undermined in the long run.

Its a fuel deal .......like ENRON....

Neculear is the next fuel.....Oil production all over the world will fall below demand near year 2020.

Today electricity is generated by using Oil / Gas /Coal to create steam out of water to move turbines.

People with neculear powered power plants will have a cheaper & effieicent electricity. But if u have uranium enriched within ur country then not only it becomes cheaper but one does not have to depend on other countries (& listent to their demands on trade) for enriched uranium as fuel, especially in the event of war.

This makes a country truly independent.

Today most of the oil is in the gulf ....& the gulf is ruled single handly by US although these countries have Kings as their representatives. The US occuptation in the Gulf is so major that they now cannot even kick them out for fear of loosing their kingdom ...a-la-Saddam Hussain (who was USA's only friend in the Gulf till the Kuwait invasion.)

The struggle for the remaining oil wells in the world is going to eat up a lot of peoples lifes. Iran, Venuzela & Colombia is next in line.

Today US has a presence where there is OIL and COCA-crops (crop used to create cocaine and other drugs) in the world. They shamelessy occupy such places & indulge in the trade of these.

Next is URANIUM......They want to trade in it.......its simple as that.

So they are telling IRAN, North Korea, Pakistan & India they can HAVE neculear plant but must BUY the fuel from USA.

So in effect if India cannot produce the fuel the era is just going to pass us by.
On the other hand if we can produce then we will become as rich as the Gulf states are today.
