This method worked for me...Try it, and see what happens!!

Turn off the computer.

At the rear of the computer, disconnect the power cord.

Remove the case cover.

Inside the case on the motherboard, locate the jumper J7B1 block.

Move the jumper on the block from pins 1-2 to pins 2-3.

Connect the power cord back to the computer, and then turn on the computer.

After the POST runs, Setup runs automatically. The maintenance menu is displayed.

From the Maintenance menu, select Clear All Passwords, and then press the F10 key save and exit.

Turn off the computer, disconnect the power cord, and then, on the J7B1 jumper block, place the jumper back to pins 1-2.

Replace the case cover.

Connect the power cord to the computer, and then turn on the computer.

Do a search online for CMOS password cracks and it will show you your password. Otherwise, take the cover off the PC, locate the nickel-sized CMOS battery and there should be a 3-pin jumper. The jumper will be on two of the pins (say, 1 and 2). Move the jumper over one (say to 2 and 3) and count to ten. Then, move the jumper back to the original position. This should clear your CMOS (including passwords). Boot the system as usual and go into CMOS...

The procedure varies form motherboard to motherboard, check your motherboard manual or the manufacturer website. Or you can disconnect the power from your pc, remove the Lithium battery on the motherboard, let it sit for 20-30 minutes before put it back. Your Bios should now be reset to the default setting. To change the boot order, get into the Bios by pressing a key (again check your manual), and you can can change the boot order inside.

cmos? You using a Sun? Or PC (bios). If you cant remember your password you can do one of three things.

1. remove the battery from your motherboard, remove all power to the computer and wait for all the power to drain out of your bios and it will reset to factory defaults. (could take 1hour - 5 days depending on how much power is stored on your Motherboard)

2. use jumper 21 (could be different on a different motherboard) to reset the bios.

3. beat your self on the head until you remember your password.

BONUS: if you have more money then brains, go buy another computer and tell the wife "it was time for an upgrade"

:-) Good luck :-)
