I have an 90 and a 91 prelude. 88-91 are 3rd gen preludes. Differences are that you have a series 1 bumper and red/orange tail lights. Mine has a series 2 bumper and white/red tail lights.
Alot of people like to swap their 88-89 tails for 90-91.

To do this you must get the 90-91 tails, bumper and trunk lid. Also there is a metal "wall" that can be either fabbed or bought so that the new tails fit right. Body kits can be seen on ebay also, not much to choose from. There is also the pricey xenon kit, which= teh sekks.

Oh yeah don't buy any fuel pressure regulators or ecu chips, its all bull. Our ludes can't be chipped. Especially yours, you have a PK1/PK2 ECU, OBD-0, you can be tuned but not by fake aftermarket computer chips.

Your year lude has the better looking front bumper IMO. You can get an HID (High Intensity Discharge) kit (blue lights that you want) for your fogs off of ebay for like $160.

Your headlights are different though. They are a sealed beam, so you would have to start off with an H4 conversion. You can get one off of ebay as well, just make sure that it is a glass lens and not plastic, because if you ever do an HID conversion, you'll melt the housing. Check this site out for HID for our 3g.

There isnt alot of aftermarket support for this generation prelude. Most of the things you do to it will be custom. That is what sets it apart from all the ricey civics and tegs that everyone has. Most of their parts can be bought almost anywhere, and it doesnt make them unique. The best route to go with our engines is boost. Our engines are boost friendly. You wont make a lot of power with an N/A 3g engine. But of course you would need to do a tranny swap if you do decided to go this route. But if you don't, the auto tranny in the 3g is fine. The gears are alot taller than those of other Honda's.

One company makes a CAI for us but its not a true CAI because the filter is still in the engine bay. Thats www.lsdmotorsports.com But you can buy a 94-01 integra CAI off of ebay and trim it down a little bit and it will fit. And it'll cost less than $50, just make sure you get a K&N filter with, ebay filters are junk.

DC sports are the best header for us, but they dont make them anymore, so if you ever find one, pick it up. 2nd best would be Hedman/Chikara headers, you can find those on www.summitracing.com, you have the B20a5 engine in it. Do not confuse it with the CRV B20b/z. Ours share almost nothing in common with the other B-series engines. Thermal R&D makes the best exhaust for our ludes also. They are hard to come by, but are the best.

In the states, there were 3 different engines, the carbed B20a3, B20a5, and the B21a1 that came in some 90-91 ludes. You can swap it out for a JDM B20a, which makes around 150hp stock. If you go this route, you must use your original intake manifold. JDM engines do not have an egr valve, and you will fail emissions.

For suspension the best is ground control coilovers, and tokico blues struts/shocks. Those are the best that are offered for our cars. Cusco makes strut bars and ingalls makes camber kits for us. Also you might want to get a 4WS front/rear rack, and distribution shaft. It's probably the only thing the 3g lude is known for. The 4WS system is all mechanical unlike other vehicles which are electronically controlled. In 1987 the 88 prelude outslalomed lamborghinis, ferraris, porsches, the only car the beat it was the corvette. That's saying something about the 3g ludes suspension.

Check out www.preludepower.com, most of the members are 3g owners so they'll offer alot of knowledge on our ludes. Also you can get an idea in which way you want to go. Just don't rice it out! Good luck!

Ok first things first u got a nice car to begin with... start by telling urself what do u want out of ur ride do u want it to go fast... handle nice/suspension... or just want it to look nice...

Don't do what i did and jump from from thing to another the car will look incomplete... get what i'm saying?

Ok if u want fast inject a nice turbo kit... an intake... an exhaust system

Racinglab.com
car-stuff.com

check those for now

Now for suspension a car dat can handle can bend curves better and a car dat is lowered gets alot of attention trust me... besides a smooth ride is always nice...

Now looks u can put a nice body kit or a good solid lip kit (don't know if ur car has a lip kit) After dat some nice rims could work check out rota...maxim...konig's... dats just a few

listen i'm ur guy if u want to talk to hit me up if u got any questions i got alot of websites i can give u... M1SCO15@aol.com

for one it's an automatic so you probably wont be racing it. I would go with a body kit but not over do it on that style you get. I'd go with some interior. Seats dash gauges. For sure rims 16" or 17". Lower the car and maybe go with a nice sound system. maybe some lights if you are down with that.

The headlights are called HID. You can get a universal wing or if you want it to be low key get a lip spoiler. Do a search on Yahoo for this stuff and there are few places to get it.

The two least expensive things you can do for speed is

Cold air intake,exhaust upgrade.

If you want to spend some cash you can get a turbo. You can upgrade the springs.

Just have to look around

Lower the car, put some nice black spoon rims on it. Forget the sound system and the large wing. Air intake K&N mod too.

i cant answer all ur questions but i will say i would put either purple or black lights under it and in the windows. that way ur car will look like it is glowing at night. i would put some kind of racing rims with low pros. on it. caroms don't look good on sports cars. but u can pimp it out any way u wont with today's equipment.

those "blue lights" are hid lights....big bucks. go to wal mart and get the blue zenon bulbs insted. (no one will really care that your bulbs look a little different because your going to turn the car into a tex-mex p.o.s anyway) its not a fin but a spoiler, and why would you need one, your car doesnt need any down force and it wont go past 120 mph (regardless of what the speedo says, i had an '83 escort.....you think that would go 140???) get what rims you like.....dont be a poser. dont worry about drifting anytime soon....you auto transmission really put hurting on that idea.
