I ordered a product on 12/12/06, free shipping. I then acquired as to when it would be here.

One of the people on the phone said 1/12/06 (should arrive)
Email says 1/15/06 (shipped)

The issue here is that the website says it will be at my door in 4 weeks, and they're telling me it might take 6, which goes completely against the time it was when I originally bought the item so it could be shipped to my door.

Is this false advertisement? If not, is there anything else it could be?

How can they have it delivered 11 months before you ordered it?

You 'inquired', not 'acquired'.

You should have been told at the time of ordering of any possible delays in the delivery window posted at the website. Speak to a supervisor about the problem. Some companies will compensate you for unmentioned delays or refund your money if you wish to cancel the order and it hasn't already shipped.

I have to agree with the rest of the answers. Also, shipping was more than likely not part of the advertisement for the product. If the product you ordered is not the same as what was advertised, then I would say yes you have a problem. As far as shipping there can be a number of reasons for that to get delayed and one being the weather. In which they can say "Act of God"

Does the website guarantee it would be there by a specific date? Most don't They'll say things like "items are usually shipped within x days" or limits any such claims to "in stock items."

Your dates do not make sense... also there does not seem to be any advertising here. Generally speaking contracts can be preformed in a reasonable time period if the contract does not stipulate that time is of the essence.
