Hiya,
there is no chance in my opinion to get a Wii soon in any retail store. As someone else mentioned somewhere all pre-orders will be fulfilled first. If any shop happens to get new stock imagine all the campers who'll sleep in front of the stores or the chaos and then within minutes all will be gone.
Another option - a very secure and reliable one which least know of actually - is to purchase a Nintendo Wii thru any trusted 3rd party seller directly at Amazon. They have good feedback, deliver on time, mostly are merchants themselves simply and Amazon operates as the platform, in fact the purchase is processed directly via Amazon as you would usually buy from them.
You might check it out at
http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2FNintendo-LU502934445-Wii%2Fdp%2FB0009VXBAQ%2Fsr%3D8-1%2Fqid%3D1166291892%3Fie%3DUTF8%26s%3Dvideogames&tag=advertiwillbe-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=9325
and then click on "See all buying options" at the right.
This is actually currently the best choice to get your hands on a Wii at all - without any hassles.
You might also try out ebay:

or Ebay express where only selected and trusted merchants are accepted:
http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-1751-2978-71/1?AID=5463217&PID=1931119&mpre=http%3A//search.express.ebay.com/__Video-Game-Systems_nintendo-wii_W0QQ_nkwZnintendoQ20wiiQQruZQQPlatform7397cc93ZNintendoWiif813746cQQ_fxdZ1
Hope that helps.
Best wishes
Mike

Probably going to be around March or April before it gets really easy to pick one off the shelf.
It should be getting easier and easier to pick one off the shelf. I mean, I think those days of camping out for a Wii are over. Now, it's just probably down to showing up at the store 2 or 3 hours before it opens just to get in line to get a reserve ticket.

i hear it was selling so fast in December because of Christmas that they will not be able to get any more till April and in the news paper in kelowna they did a $3.2 million recall for the controls because they would not stay in the hand when people play games like tenis or any games that you need to swing the contraler. but i did see the wii game at wal-mart a week a go.

Instead of waiting, you should freeze yourself until it comes out.
