niwriggej: Do you mean the outsted secular government that didn't control even a town in Somalia let alone a major city.

By your logic you could argue that we are not meddling in Iraqi affairs because the Kurds wanted us there.

Joey: It's directed at Liberals because most conservatives would agree that Ethopia did the right thing.

I think it is Ethiopia's mess now, they should have left the Islamic Courts in charge rather then helping impose the "Transitional Government". Right now, they are where Bush was when he declared "Mission Accomplished", but they don't want to stay for the rest of the show. Somebody from the international community is now going to have to supply 8,000 peacekeepers to keep the new government in power. The IC had some popularity, now anything else set up by others will be compared unfavorably to them unless it is very good. So some Al Queda guys hid there, some also hide in Pakistan.

Ethiopia is meddling in Somalia with American weapons and support. This is being done to keep Islamic Radicals from taking power and setting up a new home for terrorists. On the surface this seems to be a logical thing to do but only time will tell.

Actually the Somalian gov't asked for Ethopia's help in ousting the Islamic forces in control of the capital. So 'meddling' doesn't really apply. Nice try, though.

we meddle in everybodys affairs, what I think as a liberal doesn't matter. this question should be asked of the owners of the munitions factories, oil barons, and other suppliers of death and destruction. My opinion carries as much weight as a flea on the back of Bush's neck.
