The ULTIMATE PARTY !!
I was in Vegas for NYE this year ... Been other times as well.
They close the strip to traffic about 5pm and the strip fills with people. Actually doens't get too busy til after 11pm. Then at midnight, several of the casinos launch fireworks off their roof and do a fireworks show. Every direction you look there is fireworks. IT is fun and the city does a good job of maintaining the crowd.

Fun yes, but also crowded. I lived close to Bullhead City and worked in Laughlin for awhile several years back. Whenever there is a 3 day weekend or holiday, Vegas will be booked solid. All the way into Arizona (I actually checked all the way from Vegas to Kingman once). If you want to spend time in Vegas during any holiday, reserve a room in advance!

It is the absolute best. I lived in Las Vegas for 6 years and we would celebrate twice. Once for eastern time in New York and once for Pacific time. Which meant that we celebrated at 9PM and midnight. It was wild! If you can get there for NYE, do it. You will never regret it.

How isn't it? How is New York fun for new years?
It's fun because you can party, drink and gamble.
It's a great place for kids to, many arcade places, an the Circus Circus hotel is pretty fun.
It's not as expensive as New York I would think, well if you don't gamble.
