I think it is so short. I look at my parents for example. I am 17 and they are 52 & 54. To me, that is NOT old but I can definitely tell you that they have no idea where time has gone... it just flew by. They remember being my age, 25, 35, 45, and now almost 55. It really does go by fast if you count it by tens. Life is too short but when all my loved ones are gone, ill probably want it to be over sooner

Yes. One minute you're in fifth grade daydreaming about your secret crush, the next you're out of college looking for a job and in a serious relationship.

The point is that it seems slow and painful unless you know how to enjoy it. Take some time to enjoy life's little pleasures. Right now, looking back my life seems like I lived for no more than a few minutes. And I did in comparison to the universe and time itself, but thats another question completely.

Whether something is short or not can only be concluded by comparison with other things. Life is short if compared to the life of the Universe; it is long when compared to the life of a bug.

In a sense yes because I believe that for most people just when you learn enough about life and have enough money to do the things you want you are probably old and it is probably almost over

I believe normal life is long enough to experience quite a lot.... however, I do feel that the proportion available as able adulthood before old age could have been more than what it is.

I figure I have about 20 short years left before I move on to the other side, the next level, the next reality. How old am I? It all depends on your point of reference and your particular reality, doesn't it?

Compared to? It truly would matter on where one's perspective lies. Personally, I think life gives you just as much time as you're supposed to have. You may want more, or may desire less. But either way, the time you get is truly the time that destiny has allotted for you. All chaos is harmony misunderstood.

In biblical times, people lived 600 years or more. Compared to that it's pretty short.

If you believe in evolution, then the 75 years or so we live is pretty short compared to the millions and millions of years it has taken for us to evolve.

If you believe in heaven and hell (as I do) then our 75 years on earth is pretty short compared to all eternity (which starts when you get to heaven or hell).

I would say, yeah, life is definately short.
