who named them "knickers"? and what ever happened to them. no one goes around anymore tightening their knickers, why?

Everybody knows Oprah named them that... duh.

The reason nobody calls them that is because Oprah's a dolt... duh.

And the reason nobody "tightens their knickers" is because they don't see fit to... why tighten what shouldn't be there? Au Natural is the way to go... I suggest you join the program.

The Original short trouser like leg covering item of clothing was called "Knickerbockers"..this got shortened to "Knickers"...and later (to the UK anyway) became a term for underwear..

i don't have any idea, but knickers is one of my favorite words, and i have been using it.
