maybe because someone should be a scapegoat, like the witches obsession in medieval times
also because they were good business men and this attracted hate and their possession stolen,
but there have been communities where hey lived peacefully too

There are many reasons, and they all have to do with history and circumstances. You will have to do the reading as there is no space here; but here is a beginning. 1) Ishmael and Isaac 2) Esau and Jacob 3) Superstition 4) Many still believe that the Jews killed Christ without realizing the fulfillment of prophesy (Without Christ's death, there would be no Christianity.), and that Jesus was a Jewish Rabbi and a direct descendant of David, his mother and father were Jewish, all the Disciples were Jewish, and all the writers of the Gospel were Jewish. Then there is the Jewish tradition of being well-educated while always being a minority...so most Jews became important and held high positions. Then the money lending thing. In the Middle Ages, Christians were not allowed to lend money for interest, so many Jews became wealthy. Because of the tradition of cleanliness, Christians clandestinly had their sick and wounded treated by Jews...better survival rate....Jewish doctors. The survival of the State of Israel proves the prophesy of the Koran to be wrong. Thus, Muslims must destroy Israel to prove the Koran correct. The jealousy, the misconceptions, and the history ( much of it perverted) all combine. If there are problems, you must find someone to blame, so blame a sucessful minority...the Jews.

Well, interesting enough, Jesus IS a Jew so the accusation is a bit flat.

Anyhoo, they have been hated for not worshipping the right gods, "being stingy" with their money, etc. They seem to have a better work ethic than some non-Jews which (naturally) fosters envy.

In the early 20th century, Jews were used as a scapegoat for the first World War and they were almost exterminated from Europe in WW2. Anti-Semitism has, over time, evolved from a religious nature to a racial nature (after Darwin's "Origin of the Species" came out, people started seeing Jews as some sort of lower race that has yet to be "evolved").

They didn't kill Jesus, the Romans did that.
You know in medieval times, a lot of people were killed. Christians of different denominations killed each other for very small differences in their faith. They killed people who were considered as heretics, they killed women who were accused to be witches, they killed Muslims in the crusades - so generally many people were killed who had somehow different beliefs or who were accused of some kind of "black magic". Judaism is a religion significantly different to Christianity, esp. as Jesus doesn't play a role in it, and if you read some of what many Christians wrote at that time you see that due to their ignorance they often regarded Judaism as some kind of satanism, for example they said that Jews slaughtered Christian children and used their blood for religious rituals. It was completely made up, but many people believed it and it created hatred. Very big massacres of Jews occured during the crusades, the crusaders had a thinking like "Why do we travel so far to kill the Muslim non-believers, and these Jewish non-believers are right here, let's kill them first." And as Jews were always a minority and had no army or anything like this, they were not able to defend themselves.

In the Nazi time you see again that a lot of people were killed, it was an extremely cruel regime that had not the slightest respect for human life, and they had picked the Jews as the group of people they hated the most, based on a made up conspiracy theory and an insane race theory. It is hard to give any reasons for why Nazis hated Jews, because there was not a single reason that was based on any fact, all "reasons" were based on lies. I think the Nazis and their ideology were truely insane and it is impossible to find any logic in it. And again Jews were defenceless, they were in minority everywhere and only few people did anything to help them.

After the diaspora, Jews found themselves a people with a different culture living as a minority in diverse countries. Whenever this happens, the minority group becomes a target for any extreme regime on the lookout for an enemy to justify its existence. Kurds and Armenians have had similar experiences of genocide. The main reason is simply that these groups tend to stand out - as such they become a target for fascisms of all ilk.
In certain instances, persecution of the Jews also had to do with their wealth (Philip II of Spain). In that case, when the state found itself in need of money, it simply expropriated the Jews. The majority of the population did not complain, as they were not Jews. Again, the distinctiveness of the Jews made them a prime target - the real reason was to raise a tax without alienating the majority of the population.

From the very beginning, the Jews, or the Hebrews or Israelites as they were then called, were seperate from the rest of the world by attitude and geology. When Abraham first came out of Ur of the Chaldees, he travelled with his family and servants etc to another land to claim it. This attests to the fact that originally they were a bunch of nomads searching for land. Also they had this idea of ONE GOD in a age where gods were a dime a dozen. They were always on the outer, especially concerning Sodom and Gommorah. Therefore they were at this time unpopular as they were looking for land and had strange religous ideas for the time.
When they went to Egypt, a foriegn dynasty ruled. The HYKSOS. They got in good with it and when the native Egyptains got their country back , they regarded the Hebrews as potential traitors and a danger.
When they finally got out of Egypt they weren't very popular with the Cannanites, especially considering the brutal campaingns of Joshua. And they were different from the other people around them.
When the Roman Empire was in swing, they caused such trouble rioting and starting some pretty serious revolts. One such got Traijan to send back forces from his Parthian campaign.
Eventually the emperor Hadrian threw them out of Judea and they started to wonder.
After that they not only were seperated in living quarters and religion from the other dominant religions of the time but they mostly kept to themselves. An action that brought suspision upon them. Also they were not warriors, but intellectuals. Not a popular charactaristic in the middle ages in Europe. Also being in and being confined to finance they were distained.
When the great plague came to Europe 1347-1349 the Jews as they were known by this time, were the hygenic people in Europe except for the Byzantines and the Moors in Spain. This got them accused of all sorts of witchcraft etc. As they didn't die of the plague.
In modern times, being seperate, without a state and not warriors, they have been ripe for scapegoating by unscrupulous people. Also the fact that they didn't fight back is important. But most of all it is because of people's prejudice and bias against that which is different and apart from them. And to those who are defenceless. In times past the Jews have been relegated to the garbage can of society. Lets hope that in the future their persecutors will be relegated to the garbage can of history. Hope this helps.

1. A specific group of Jewish leaders - the Pharisees - turned Jesus in to the Romans and the Romans killed him, according to Jospehus. Unfortunately, the act of turning him over has condemned all Jews as "Christ killers" - once Christianity attained a hedgemony in Europe.

2. Jews were also forced into "undesirable" jobs that were considered un-Christian and looked upon with fear and superstition - banking, fur-trading, merchanting, etc. which made them rich and caused them to be accused of consorting with Satan for their wealth.

3. When plagues and/or foreign invasions came through an area, the Jew were naturally blamed because of their trading ties (which naturally made them spies), and were made scapegoats as part of the lose-lose cycle they were forced to inhabit.

4. Whenever a territory that was friendly to its Jewish population was conquered - primarily by Christians - laws were promptly passed to suppress and banish the Jewish population, thus, once more, making them scapegoats.

I hope that helped a little.

they are hated because like many have said they were really good at business and the royals of those times wanted their money take the Spanish Inquisition for example queen Isabella went to the pope and asked him if she could start a Inquisition to take the Jews money and lands by showing them as heretics and the rest is history also if u look at the paintings of satan from that timwe u will see how he looks like a jew so the church is telling the masses that they were evil

I agree with Danny... Jews are very good businessmen, so, the best way to "stop" them, was using religious excuses, like "they killed Jesus" and "they worshipped pagan Gods while Moses was on Mount Sinai"

According to observation, the Jews are proud to the extent that they are braggart because they know that the blessings of God to Abraham , that they carry with them, will keep them through, thick and thin. They usually accululate wealth, evidence by too many jewelries they decorate themselves. These conditions, , one essayist related, led hitler to eliminate them
