Not at all. I hit 5'6 when I was 11. I was the tallest person (not just girl) in my class. But then I just stopped. I am 28 and still 5'6, and now I am referred to as "shorty" LOL

No, I think I was born 5'6". I grew fast and had completed my growing by 12. I'm 65 and still 5'6". It wasn't easy to be that tall and everyone else was a lot shorter. All my relatives kept saying she is so big. I wasn't big - I was tall. But they made me feel like an elephant. At least I was able to reach things on the top shelf.
My youngest daughter is less than 5' 2". She has to have a step stool to reach anything...her brother used to sing "Short People" to her until she would say, Mom, make him quit. He, of course, is 6 ft. So it all works out and we all live through it. It won't last forever and the SHORT people will catch up. They are probably envying you for being tall and slender.

Everybody grows at different rates. If you are 5'6" at 11 years old, you may have just gone through what is known as a growth spurt. What that means is you could be taller than most of the girls your age right now, but later on they may catch up with you.

Anyway, it doesn't matter whether or not your height is normal for a girl your age.
As long as you accept yourself as you are, then everyone else will be accepting of you also.

My daughter was that height at that age. She had always been tall but I did notice about the time she turned 11 that her friends started catching up. The most dependable predictor of a child's final height is the height of the parents.

No, the boy next door just turn 12 yrs old and he is 5'8" and weighs 180. A friend of mine has a grandchild that is 13 yrs old that is 5'9" and that girl is built and mature looking already, she could past for 21 easy. We just have to remember that these are children and do act according to their age, not their height. , not to be judged by their height and weight.

a little unusual but not unheard of. if at least one parent is tall, it could be possible that she would take after that parent for her height. don't be too worried unless she starts having health issues or gets to outrageously tall.
