I am 29 weeks pregnant, and I seem to be leaking. Its not like going to the toilet or anything, I have no control over it. I just had a shower and changed my undies and these ones are already wet. I am a little concerned. I have no pain or anything like that. Is this normal?

I never had this problem but I had a friend who did. She acually had the problem untill she delivered. I know that she wore panty liners and kept them everywhere. In the car at work any where you can think of. I am not to sure the details on why this happens but I do know this is normal no concerns. No you don't have a yeast infection.. how lame.

No it isn't depending on how much fluid you maybe loosing or maybe your just have a higher amount of discharge. I've had both. (5 kids) If your in any pain as time goes by call your doctor right away if not just give the nurse on call a call on Monday.

Dr. Elizabeth Pryor on Leakage During Pregnancy
What causes dampness -- or leakage -- during pregnancy?
By Elizabeth Pryor, MD, FACOG

Question
What causes dampness -- or leakage -- during pregnancy?

Answer
It is difficult to say exactly what the dampness is without an examination, but I will say this is very common in pregnancy.

The reason we experience a clear mucus discharge during pregnancy is because the cervix "flowers out" naturally. This means that the neck of the womb is exposed to the vagina. Within this area are cells that produce clear mucus and that is why we see it more commonly in pregnancy.

Another common cause is pressure on the bladder, especially in second (third, etc.) pregnancies.

Keep in mind that if you are concerned about the amount of dampness, see your doctor and he or she can perform an exam to make sure everything is okay.

I am also 29 weeks pregnant and I have like a little clear fluid that comes out, but not alot, I don't need to change my panties or anything, But it did just start happening since I gotten to 29 weeks, a few times it worried me and all, but honestly, if I were you, I'd ask my OB about it, she may want to examine you.. every woman is different, it might not be anything serious, but I do know when you get further along in pregnancy your body does go through more changes.. but good luck-

Sounds like your water is leaking. how long has it been going?

You have two options here:

A) The most common response you'll get is to go to the doctor. Labor often does come soon after your water breaks, and at 29 weeks, it is a good idea to have that checked.

B) This is more of a recommendation I would make much later in pregnancy. There are two layers to the amniotic sac, and occasionally, when leaking begins, it is only one layer and the sac is able to patch itself up after a while.

But again, as you are 29 weeks, I would definitely recommend heading to the ER to get checked out. You want to prevent your baby from coming this soon!

It depends on how wet exactly they are. there will be WAY MORE Vaginal discharge but not enough to soak panties. Also I have heard you 'water' the amniot fluid has a unique smell, not a bad smell not a good smell but it wont smell like plain old discharge. But if there isnt any pain, cramps,or lower back pain, then its probably just discharge but I would call your docter as soon as you can or on monday, or you could call any old doctors office and ask a nurse or get ahold of a doula or a midwife and ask and make sure

A couple of things could be happening: you could simply be putting out a lot of vaginal discharge (not all that uncommon when you're pregnant), or you could be leaking amniotic fluid. If you think the latter is possibly the case, you might want to contact your doctor, as it's a little early for you to be losing fluid from the amniotic sac.

Call doctor immediately - you could be leaking amniotic fluid which would put you at risk for infection and premature labor - call immediately - not later, now!

Please don't wait - if you are leaking fluid, you need to be on antibiotics immediately to forestall an infection within the womb. The same membranes that keep the fluid in, keep bacteria out. so please let your doctor know tonight. Do not put this off or wait for more answers. This is not a joking matter - an infection inside the womb can be very dangerous for a baby.

Hope all is well - please post follow-up in 'comments' if you can - so all of us can know that everything was okay...

Call your dr, ob or hospital... When i was 28 weeks pregnant with my son i had the same thing happen to me, i rang the hospital they said to go in for a check up(rather be safe than sorry)... They took some of the fluid to the lab and turned out that it was amniotic fluid... They done an examination and it turned out that the my sons sac hadnt developed properly and a 'bubble' of fluid had formed and as my son emerged further down the bubble had been pushed out and ruptured... They gave me drugs and sent me home, it was all good but as they said if i hadnt gone in all sorts of things coulda gone wrong...
So be safe rather than sorry...

Just to be on the safe side, I would call the doctor. I don't know what time it is where you live, but he will have an answering service that can get you in touch with him. Your water may be leaking...that can happen, because it did to me. It does need to be seen about asap. No good doctor would blame you for being concerned. Call.

It was normal for me, I had to wear panty liners during pregnancy. The extra lube made for some great time in bed though, LOL. Anyhow, check with your doc and ask him to do a test and make sure the fluid isn't amniotic. It's an easy test, all they do is swab around your privates.
