Another question that could be posed is:
"When a student is obviously trying to ask a homework question, would you please not answer it completely? Leave something for them to do or think about."

Thats what I try to do. Give them a shove in the right direction and hold some information back. Perhaps tell them how to solve the problem, but not give them the answer.

High fives, Cribbag....! There are too many people jumping in with answers, but not explaining how a problem is solved, which is what homework help is supposed to be all about, and which actually helps a student learn to do a problem. Giving answers doesn't accomplish anything.
