My daughter is just under 3 months old and she has an awful croop cough. She is misreable. She was at te doctors today and they put her on medication. She is not running a fever and I have the cool mist humidifier running and have been breastfeeding her more often but she is soooo sick and uncomfortable. What else can I do for my little angel?

You said she has a croup cough. If this is the case, you can turn the shower on (hot) and sit in the bathroom with her--this will help with the cough and make her more comfortable. Or if it cold outside, dress her warmly and take her outside (this will also calm her cough and make her more comfortable). You could also give her a bath with Johnson's Soothing vapors. Otherwise, do what your doctor suggested and she will hopefully get over this soon. Sounds like you are doing other really good comfort measures. I hope she gets better soon! Good Luck!

My son used to get croup all the time. When a coughing spell hits, what works best is a drastic change in temperature. (If he is in his bedroom, take him outside for a few minutes) I also bought some Vicks vapor plug-ins. Vicks vapor rub for infants on the chest is good too. My son was put on codeine cough medicine at less than a year old. He is now 5 and uses a nebulizer machine for his coughing spells.

I hope a pediatric nurse or Dr. will answer your question. I'm so sorry for you and I can't help. Have you tried going onto the WWW and checking out what might help? Good Luck. Say a prayer and just love your little babe back to health. If you can get some help looking after her you should because you will become exhausted soon too.

My 5 yr old had the same cough too not too long ago. My doctor adviced my that when he does, to put him in the bathroom without clothes, turn on the heater and the hot shower and just let her inhale the hot air there. It helped my son but its not easy to be inside since its too hot but it worked. We, [parents, just have to bear it. Good luck and I hope your daughter will feel better soon.

Rock her, sing to her and read to her. Make sure she gets the medicine on time and spends a lot of time around the humidifier. There isn't really much you can do for her.

I just went through the same thing a couple of months ago. Just be sure to give her medicine as directed and give her lots of affection. Holding her close to you makes all the difference in the world. Good luck!!!

Awww.. poor little thing. Just hold her and comfort her. She needs to be soothed by her mommy. I wouldn't let too many people handle her. I would just talk to her and reassure her.
I hope she gets better soon.. Good Luck!

Lie her on her stomach. Cup your hands & lightly pat her back over her lungs. This will help break it up and get it out.
