The book is closed, the year is done,(another year is gone, like a book) The pages full of tasks begun(new stuff to do in a new year). A little joy, a little care, Along with dreams, are written there.(new goals for the new year) This new day brings another year,(new years day) Renewing hope, dispelling fear(new hope for a new year). And we may find before the end, A deep content, another friend(before death)
