Would it not possibly be a good idea to not keep mentioning this evil man's name. He is dead, thank god. He will only stay 'alive' if we keep mentioning him. I say nothing people writing about him in twenty years time or something, as there are things to be learned from this. Can we keep quiet until then? If we keep chuntering on, the man has got what he wanted in a way.

I totally agree with you, I wish that Saddam was never mentioned again. However I do know why he is getting so much publicity.

some background:

Saddam was guarded and detained in America custody. He was never in Iraqi custody at all. He was, in effect, a prisoner of war. the USA was pulling all the strings of his detention and trial all along.

Everyone who entered that execution chamber was searched by United States guards, Everyone had their cellphone removed by these guards, whether they had camera's or not, EXCEPT the two people who filmed the execution.

This film was allowed to be taken and be released deliberately to stir up further hatred between the factions in Iraq.

Now I understand and agree with your irritation at the constant publicity, but the fermentation of the hatred between the factions cannot happen without the constant publicity and martryrdom of Saddam.

If we had tossed a couple of granades into the spiderhole, then the Iraqis could have united against the west. That is NOT the policy in Iraq. The policy is to create a civil war so that the Iraqis are too busy fighting each other to fight us whilst we rape their country of their natural resources and build huge bases from which to steal the natural resources of their neighbours too.

The Iraq war was never about terrorism, or 9/11 or WMD, these are all convenient labels with which to distract a very dumbed down and ignorant public. The real aim is as old as mankind and is as indelibly ingrained in the psyche of the ruling classes as it has ever been throughout history. The goal is empire. Divide and conquer. Simple.

Saddam has been a central tool in the west's tactical approach to this. This is why the media at home and in the middle east are FULL of Saddam this, Saddam that and 80% of what the mainstream media are telling you is completely false.

Saddam allowed secular belief, freedom of religion, Women were treated as equals. Were educated and could perform any proffesion. He was thoroughly brutal in his execution of those who he considered a threat to his position. But tales of people being fed alive to tigers and fed alive into meat grinders are false and are pure propaganda. Saddams enemy's and criminals were either hanged or shot or gassed. Wag the dog is closer to the truth than to fiction.

Saddam was an egotistal, brutal, ruthless megalomaniac, but he is not even close to as bad as Pol Pot, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, or many, many other dictators who the west currently counts as friends.

Do not count on the mainstream media to give you the truth about who is a good leader or not. they will only support world leaders that support their hidden agendas, regardless of whether they are cruel or not.

When Saddam's cruelty was at its worst, he was a reliable ally of the west. We stood by and allowed his cruelty without a murmer. It was when he decided to take control of his country's energy supplies and steal Kuwait's oil that the west had enough. Saddam had stopped playing the game and was turned into an outcast by the powers that be.

I will not have the mainstream media lie to me and then tell me who I should like and who I should hate. I can research and decide these things for myself.

The evil and infamous of history are always kept alive in the collective memory of the people. We must try not to make the same mistake. We must try harder in the future not to give support, as we did, to this evil man, this Saddam.

For the very same reason, the name of Adolf Hitler and others like him, are constantly spoken and remembered, not in love, not in hate, but a remembrance of those who were murdered in his name.

Failure to remember the evil dead, could result in yet another Holocaust. It is already happening and has happened in Africa.

He's gone........... and good riddance.........

I will say one last thing about him however, just for giggles...

Maybe we should have simply popped two grenades in to the hole we found him in. By putting him on trial and giving those stupid guards a chance we have made into more than he was.

America tried to safeguard him to give him some decency because they KNEW something would go wrong. We also KNEW we could not execute him because it was not our right to do so. We further were proven right when two of the guards treated him in such an outrageous fashion.

Saddam was evil its true, but wander: Was he more evil than Bush is? Are those who rule IRAK better than Saddam? Is this country free and democratic now or is it ever going to be? I wish it will but i don't think so. It was just a message go against Bush and see what is going to happen to you

good question and I agree with you but reality says it won't happen as some people have a macabre fascination with these viscious people and their own country often support them and keep the guy alive making him into a warped kind of martyr. Sad.

lack of life is a advertising for a Christian. Philippians a million:21 For to me, to stay is Christ, and to die is benefit. 22 yet when I stay to inform the tale contained in the flesh, this may recommend fruit from my troublesome artwork; yet what I shall elect i can't tell. 23 For i'm troublesome-pressed between both, having a desire to go away and be with Christ, it truly is a few distance extra effective. 24 inspite of the indisputable fact that to stay contained in the flesh is extra considered necessary for you. human beings in all likelihood cry at funerals and do not desire you to hitch the protection stress for similar causes. even inspite of the indisputable fact that they could do not ignore that to be contained in the presence of God is to adventure fullness of entertainment and at His good hand are pleasures forevermore, they omit having someone that they care about not being of their existence. Psalms 16:8 I easily have set the LORD consistently earlier me; because he's at my good hand I shall not be moved. 9 for this reason my heart is happy, and my glory rejoices; My flesh will also relax in wish. 10 for you received't go away my soul in Sheol, Nor will you enable Your Holy One to ascertain corruption. 11 you'll practice me the direction of existence; on your presence is fullness of entertainment; At Your good hand are pleasures forevermore. Is that "selfish"? nicely, it would want to be construed as being selfish, yet a minimum of this is selfish in a loving way considering they care about you.

If the videos had not been shown on tv, we'd possibly not be talking about him right now. This only gave the media more fuel to talk about him.
