The difference between pads and tampons is that pads go in your underwear and the blood comes out on it. A tampon goes in and up your vagina and absorbs the blood before it comes out of your body. If you don't know which one to try first, experiment with both of them and decide which one you like better!

Well many girls use pads the first few times they have periods. and some dont use tampons until they're no longer virgins. tampons you have to actually insert it into your vagina. it's weird and uncomfortable at first if you've never had anything there before. if this is your first period i suggest you use pads. Tampons can also be dangerous if you leave them in too long, and they're easy to forget about if they're inserted properly, because you cant even feel them once they're in. I'd use pads for now, and maybe try tampons out later, of if you want to go swimming you can use a tampon, or if you're active in sports. Neither is better than the other. It's really just a personal preference.

How old are you ? if you go on yahoo answers and have an account and ask questions i think your old enough to know the difference between the two. But if you really need to know, pads go on your underwear to catch the flow and tampons are inserted to catch flow before it leaves the body.

A pad is something that lines the underwear to protect the wearer's clothing from their menstrual cycle where as the tampon is bullet shaped and goes inside the woman to 'catch' the menstrual cycle. Tampons also have a serious risk called TSS (toxic shock sydrome) which if you plan on using a tampon you should do research on before doing so.

well tampons go in and you cant feel them and you cant feel the blood coming out which for me i find to be a big plus on tampons. pads go in your panies to ketch the blood but you can feel the blood coming out and with pads you have to roll them up to throw away and alot of times the sight and smell of period blood makes me gag. a tampon you insert it and for get it pads you put where you want them and alot of times they get bunched up on slide down and you have to fix it for me pads are an extreme hassle. and makes me feel worse about having my period. as to tampons they lol are a life savor 1 wk out of every month they are cleaner easier and alot more comfortable
