Twins! They'll get some big performances from young pitchers and they are rock solid on the field, the most complete team of position players they have had since 1991. Bullpen is great, one dominating starter, Silva HAS to do bettter than last year, Garza and Bonser will be fine. They won it in 1987 w/ only two good starters all year!!!

The New York Yankees will win the World Series this year. They by far have the best batting line-up in MLB, even with the loss of Gary Sheffield to the Tigers. Joe Torre is the smartest manager in the game and they have so much leadership on their team. Their pitching rotation has improved with the acquisition of Andy Pettite, and Carl Pavano will be healthy at the start of the season. If they need any help throughout the season, they can always buy the player they need to fill in for injuries or poor performance. They play every year to win the World Series and they have the team to do it.

My heart says the BRAVES. But my brain says the Red Sox with a starting rotation that includes Palpabon, Schilling, Beckett, and D-matz. They look pretty good. Unless the Yankees get Clemens.

What's with all these people in love with the Twins? Didn't anyone hear that Johan Santana is out for the year? This is not news! It was out in September!

Despite being a rabid Cleveland fan (I really think the Indians have a shot), my money is on the Tigers. Solid offense. Great manager. Most importantly, great pitching. It will be hard to beat the Tigers as all those young pitchers continue to develop.

I am a Cub fan and they have a realistic hope this year. But, in order to make sure my answer is not biased, I will go with Boston. They are STACKED. A rotation where Tim Wakefield and Joel piniero are the number 6 and 7 starters and a lineup with Wily Mo Pena available on the bench. Matsuzaka, Schiling, Beckett, and (possibly) Papelbon could each take over the rotaion and the role of ace. Papi and Manny are RBI/homerun machines. They're in a tough division, but i like their chances.

Mets. After many years of having Mets GM's with their heads firmly implanted within their backsides, Omar Minaya has put together a great team with a terrific offense, a deep bullpen and a solid rotation-even without Pedro. I say Maine and Perez(starters for games 6 & 7 of the NLCS) may come into their own this year.

Don't laugh, but the LA Angels of Anaheim. The Angels have deep pitching talent, solid defense and an offense that needs jumper cables...But as they say, defense wins championships, and in the AL West the Angels has what it'll take to win the west. Angels also has NY's number, only team with a winng record vs the yanks during the Torre years. And I think the pitching is strong enough to get us to the promised land.
