Why do some women still need to flirt, or show interest when they have a good honest loving caring committed romantic guy in their life already. It's only a two year relationship but believe me, I am experienced in women needs and have an amazing power of observation. But my love (usually after a few drinks) flirts, full blown out flirt. At one point she even offered to rub my brothers feet for him.........arghhh: Now why would you even offer that. Oh ya, that makes me feel alll LOVABLE towards ya. we are in our 40s and she has come from a horrible unfulfilling marriage to a guy who loves giving roses and is very attentive. So, when does this stupid flirting to feel beautiful end????

Wonderful answers, thank you. My only concern is her making a Horrible mistake because of it. She's already had a horrible marriage and a walkaway boyfriend. I'd hate to see her lose my love, it's true and strong and pure and the sex is wonderful (she loves me big). Thanks ladies, keep answering, the more the better.

It stems from low self esteem and insecurities. I used to be an uncontrollable flirt myself. I used to flirt with people that I wasn't even interested in just to make myself feel good. It is wrong, unhealthy, and addicting. I ended up hurting several people before I did some heavy self examination and soul searching that made me realize that I had to grow up.

I too have a wonderful man. He saw me through my flirting stages, and yes, I am happy and content. But, I did my work. I changed because I saw the problem and recognized that I needed to change. All of your love won't change her. She will just eat it up and want more. She needs to see a problem and want to change for herself.

Have you told her how her behavior makes you feel? Try to talk to her about her behavior in a calm and non- judgmental way if you can. Ask her why she acts that way and listen to what she says. Explain to her that your marriage, her happiness, and your happiness are important to you. Tell her that you are worried that her flirting will harm your relationship if it does not stop. Tell her it makes you feel hurt and unlovable toward her and see what she says. Good luck.

Well first off, has she been doing this since the start of your relationship or is this something recent?
If its something recent then you should point it out to her and try to talk to her about it so she knows how it makes you feel. If it has been the whole time you've had this relationship then that may be just part of her personality. She may have a hard time seeing it, or refraining from doing it, but you have to let her know how much it bothers you.
ps. dont try to flirt with someone else to 'show her how it feels', chances are you are too much of a gentleman to pull it off without looking like an *** because its not how you would behave. And it still wont make you feel any better or help resolve the problem!

Maybe that is the only way your girlfriend know how to communicate with the opposite sex.Or maybe she just does it to get a rise out of you.I know I flirt with guys not in front of my hubby that is just plain disrespectful. But I still flirt for two reasons.1. I like to know that I am still found attractive by the opposite sex.2. I am so used to doing it it has become automatic for me I am one of those southern bells that was born knowing how to get a man to do what I want just by fluttering my eyelashes. My husband know that I flirt my way into / out of things.Like getting out of tickets and I have even got free or discounted parts for my car.He doesn't care that I flirt he know I love him more than anything and wouldn't ever dream of messing things up.

Alcohol is a depressant, so when she drinks she feels lousy about herself. Flirting is a way of bringing herself out of the dumps with no regards for anyone's feelings.

Ask her before you go out to limit her drinking or cut her wine with some club soda or ginger ale.

With some women, never. I have an 80 year old aunt that flirts like a 16 year old. Its just her personality. Don't let it bother you.

I prefer the beginning of your statement...."SOME women".
You happen to be married to one of the some. All women do not have this sort of insecurity. Some women are secure in WHO they are. You happen to be married to one who is not. She will probably never change.

maybe she doesn't know that her flirting is starting to bother you. i suggest you talk to her about it. who knows? maybe she's intentionally doing it to try and see if you'd get jealous.
