There are many deals at expedia.com and travelocity.com
lasvegas.com

There are casinos everywhere - so don't feel you have to lose all of your money at one location.
There are roller coasters on top of tall buildings.
There are white tigers on the first floor side area of the Mirage.
There are outside shows at Treasure Island.
Gambling:
There are many where you can lose $50 without even trying, then win $10, then win another $50.
It's easy to lose $100+ a day minimum, so if you're smart
you'll back away if you lose $20 - and try your luck another time, or another day.

Best location, and I stayed there January 2006, was the Mirage and it's next to Treasure Island, across from Venetian Grand canal, and down the street are Bellagio and the Eiffel tower.
You can walk everywhere, or take the bus when your feet get tired (very cheap).

Don't forget to lunch at the Eiffel tower - pricey but great, great food, and across from the fantastic Bellagio fountains that have themes - yes dancing fountains w/music when you're outside to hear.

Lunch also at the revolving restaurant -where you can see all of Vegas during the day - THE STRATOSPHER. The food was magnificent and you can see if you go at lunchtime - where the people of Las Vegas live and the mountains that surround it.

Las Vegas - I saw Jay Leno and he was non-stop for 1 & 1/2 hours of jokes, and we got the last 2 seats in the far section, and it was still somewhat close because the entertainment area was well done!

We went to see Mystere show - and the best is called "O" which means water in French. The stage actually opens for people to dive into, and then closes for people to walk on it.
So amazing.

At the end of 7 days, I was ready to come home. It's exciting, but not enough to say, wow someday I'd consider living there.

GOD bless us one and all, always.

Yes, honey there's plenty must see/or must go to places. You got to go to Ceaser's Palace and check out the mall there. Walking shoes is a must. Go to one of the Cirque Du Soleil shows. Mystere at Treasure Island is very nice. New York New York for the roller-coaster ride, RIO for the buffet, Bellagio for the fountain show and Alladin has a nice mall as well. I hope this helps and have fun. Every hotel has a nightclub,just hope that you're able to get inside one. Check out Freemont Street, the original Vegas strip.

Try and catch a Cirque Du Soleil show. I saw Mystere at Treasure Island and it was awesome. I also saw Carrot Top at MGM and I never laughed so hard in my life. I was exhausted after his show and all of my eye make up was gone because I had tears coming out of my eyes. The roller coaster at New York New York is cool. The Voodoo Lounge at the Rio is sweet--at night time you can see the lights of Las Vegas for miles. Also walk around and see all of the hotels they're really cool. Paris (almost feels like you're there), Bellagio (the indoor flower garden is beautiful), the Venetian (gondola rides), Ceasers Palace (there's a mall in there). There's so much to do in LV--there's never a dull moment.

Hi, not sure what kind of a budget you have... or how much you're wanting to spend.

In EITHER case, i would definately suggest the Fountain Shows in front of the Bellagio (free). Also, inside.. the Bellagio Conservatory (free). Each is very dramatic.

If you're on a budget... some things to consider are:

Ellis Island (1 block off the strip) 4.95 steak special. Just about the most amazing value in the whole city.

Red Rock Canyon. If you're driving in (or have a rental car), jump on I-215 to Charleston... or just take Charleston West & you'll run right into it. Only $5 per car admission. You'll see some amazing rock formations, etc, etc. It's a nice break from the lights & fast-paced temp of the city.

For a buffet, i would avoid the pre-mentioned MGM. It's been rated by many of our board members (i belong to a simple web forum Related to l.v.) as 'fair' to 'avoid at all costs'. Also, overpriced.

In my opinion, the BEST buffets are either Bellagio or Aladdin. You're looking at $18 for lunch or $26 for dinner. Like i said, they are often rated the best. For BEST VALUE (for a buffet), try either Gold Coast or the Orleans. Both are off strip, but offer really good value. The RIO buffet (am sure you have heard of it) is big. That's about all it is. Much of the food is uninspired, lacks spice/taste/etc.... and many dishes seem to just 'sit out' for long periods of time. I know this from experience. The RIO buffet is the worlds largest of course... i just dont think it's anything great.

Entertainment.. there's a ton of shows to see. Headliners, comedy, magic, Cirque de Solei (they have 5 shows in LV now). Check out Tix4Tonite for 1/2 price tix to a TON OF SHOWS in town. Really good values.

Go downtown at least once. Not sure where you're staying at... but try to at least get down there. See a 'show' under the CANOPY. Fremont street is 4 blocks that's blocked off auto-traffic & there is a multi-million dollar 'lite' show that goes off on the hour thruout the night (after dusk). Nice stuff. It's free.

Otherwise:

--> people watching (ooh, it's a novelty)
--> gambling (of course)
--> where comfy shoes
--> Stratosphere tower $9 to get you up there (views are great, trust me). From there, it's up to you to shell out extra dough for thrill rides, have a cocktail, or have an expensive dinner in the 360-degree rotating restuarant.

Good luck my friend.

Some may say its cheesy but I find the water fountain show next to the Bellagio to be very nice. It's even better at night when they light it as well and they have a pretty good selection of music to go with the rhythm of the water.

I think at night there's a show every 20 minutes or so.

Just driving down the strip in itself is a wonder, all the different casinos themes.
The Valley of Fire is close to Vegas and is beautiful.
