"I want to be a paramedic but I don't know how long can I work as a paramedic, when will I have to retire?"

There's no government specified retirement age, like with airline pilots. I know of several paramedics in their 40's and 50's who do just fine. That being said, eventually your back will give out since it's a very physically demanding profession, and the "burn out" rate is high, since it's also mentally and emotionally demanding. If you really want to be a paramedic, plan on working on a backup career (such as RN or paramedic instructor) just in case.
Hope this helps!

They save the average paramedic only stays in that career for about 3-6 years!!! I did paramedic rides and was going to become one until I fould out my hips are no good!!

I would go on a few runs if you haven't to make sure you can handle it!! I was worried about seeing a baby in a car accident. The first call I went on a 6 month old baby had flipped 6 times on the free way in a small car.

It was pretty crazy but I knew after that I could handle anything.

Good luck to you

Same amount of time as any other job. Usually 65 but 62 if you want to collect less social security. As long as you are physically fit there shouldn' be any reason why you can't go all the way. If by any chance you win the lottery than retire ASAP. Good Luck!
