You'll have to defrost that freezer and clean it with a solution of vinegar and water. After that, give the fridge a clean with warm, soapy water. Then, leave some charcoal in a large pan at the base of your mini-fridge, until the stench lessens. Outside the fridge, leave a slice of bread soaked with vinegar, in a plate, every day; discard each slice used for this purpose every night, until the odour is completely gone. Also, clean the rubber seals of your fridge with some toothpaste and a small brush, and wipe off with a warm, wet cloth. It's always a good idea - disaster or no disaster - to leave an opened packet of soda bicarb in a fridge.

VINEGAR--it stinks, but will safely clean your fridge and freezer. After cleaning, leave the fridge open before plugging it back in to get rid of the smell.

I ahve done the exact same thing when I was at uni... and the only thing that got rid of the smell and that did it fast was a vanilla spray... just put some vanilla essence with water or a water detergent mix and start spraying... smells really yummy as well and its really cheap and quick...
