I worked for three years at my job, and I have accumulated a bit of money in raises but now that the minimum has been increased, which is good for others but sucks for me. Now I'm earning as much as a new employee!

Become a new employee elsewhere. Your new employer will not only have to factor in the increase in minimum wage, they will also have to pay you for the years of experience you've earned.

Yeah blame the democrates LAME! Your company dtermines ur pay not the democrates minimum wage is just that the lowest wage u can be paid legally. Your employer determines what they want to pay u either u work for a company thatvalues thier employees or not. I live in Phx. until now a tipped employees min. wage was $2.13 an hour however at my company day servers recieved $4.50 to compensate for the tip difference night servers recieve and when i was promoted to bartender my wage increased to $6.00 even though my tips at the bar are more than any server shift more is expected of me and my wage reflects that cause its a good company

Granted is wonderful for the new comeonboarders but really hurts those who have already put in alot of time trying to move up the financial ladder!

you're thoroughly incorrect. I wish I had time to totally clarify it to you, yet i don't. i will purely provide one speedy occasion and want you could comprehend it. If a company has $50 in line with hour funds for workers and minimum salary is $5 in line with hour, then the corporate can hire 10 people (10 x $5 = $50). If minimum salary is going as much as $7, then they company can purely hire 7 people (7 x $7 = $forty 9). you purely fee 3 people their jobs. elevating the minimum salary will develop a company's expenses with out increasing their income. that is basic arithmetic. ...edit... before everything, there is not any such element as a livable salary, that could be a delusion. the 1st subject is how do you define livable? Is it residing by technique of your self or sharing an condominium with somebody else? Is it using a clean vehicle or a used vehicle? Is it livable for a single person without youngsters or a married person with 2 youngsters? Is it eating hardship-unfastened nutrition or eating junk nutrition and eating out? Is it livable in Florida or livable in long island? in case you're alive, then by technique of definition, in spite of quantity of money you're making is "livable". 2d of all, every person isn't paid to stay, they're paid for what their exertions is properly worth. Flipping burgers does not take any means, any fool can do it, so that is not properly worth a lot. in addition to, your boss can not sell a hamburger for $2 if he's paying you $20 an hour. the only way he pays people extra is that if he reduces his artwork rigidity or will develop his expenses. it is hardship-unfastened math and economics we are speaking right here. using an oxymoronic time era like "slave wages" purely shows that your comments are consistent with thoughts not on information and good judgment. For some reason you hate company people and assume they're all evil. that could be a silly assumption and shows your gross lack of understanding. attempt to set aside your prejudiced assumptions and %. up a math or economics e book.

If you want something when you retire like a pension and good retirement plan will join your local union prefer the IBEW- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, I know a Brother that retired and recieving $14,000.00/month for awhile, but this brother traveled alot too earn that much...see every job in the states has different scale plus benefit packages...example Las Vegas scale $36.00/Hr plus bene package total $52.00/Hr.
Plus, everytime you pay your dues you wil get that back when you retire you can say its a saving account that grows every month when you pay your dues.
Plus, a present time Vegas is the place to go for the big money
specially when your are and IBEW member.
Good luck in what you do but remember this SS will not be here for ever do something you are gifted in and support America.

You need to propose a raise to your boss. Tell him/her it's a cost of living increase. Also you have served your time and deserve to be earning more than a new employee.

Yep, that's how it works. Your years of work are no more important than an entry level worker, thanks to the Democrats looking out for them.
