I would think San Francisco is the most tolerant for the lifestyle. Provincetown, MA (top of the Cape) is another, Key West, FL. For New York City, the Manhattan neighborhoods of Chelsea and West Village.

A suburbs of Detroit, Ferndale and Royal Oak are open to and cater to gays, or otherwise eccentric people.

Also Seattle is really progressive and healthy minded place.

General urban areas with multiple colleges.....like Austin TX, Athens GA.....Berkeley CA....Portland OR.....Seattle CA.....so all over the country.......

Then you have areas like Santa Monica CA and San Francisco CA...SOHO in NY....and other area in the country.....

but they have their limits too................progressive countries have their laws to promote an alternative lifestyle
