As both a victim and guilty of, I am a recovering rage-a-holic. The meanig of domestic violence is simple and straightforward. It can be Physical, Mental or Sexual in nature and is subject to the victim of an act of violence. It a crime it is a very serious issue and WILL affect all and any relationship(s) you have with people. I am one of the lucky few who realized my problem and seeked help. Thankfully my wife is a very forgiving, loving, supportive person and is willing to work towards a solution. Although we have our problems and will always have the shadow of this in our lives we can not let it affect our decisions going forward in our relationship.

From the wikipedia (and as good a definition as any): Domestic violence occurs when a family member, partner or ex-partner attempts to physically or psychologically dominate or harm the other.

my ex was physically, mentally and psychologically abusive to me.
she attacked me with a knife in front of a nurse once.

i only left her bcos i couldn't stand to see my kid caught up in the disturbance and traumatised any more.

i know exactly what it means to be abused and the victim of domestic violence. i never lifted a finger to her.
