Dude I feel your pain..so just try to look harder. I think you wont get a "REAL JOB" since of your age so..just stick with small jobs. Maybe try to look in fast food restaurants. Or Supermarket's. Hope this works.
PS. Im about your age, I feel your struggle.

While California and Federal law allows many businesses to hire 14 and 15 year-olds, many will not because of the labor law restrictions on hours they can work, duties they can perform, and the types of equipment they can operate. I manage a movie theatre and I won't hire 14-15 year-olds because they can't work past 9:00pm during the summer. Since we have movie starting until almost 10:00pm, having people that can't work that late doesn't do me much good. Granted, I am in a smaller area with a smaller staff so I need my people to be more flexible. My advice to you would be to just go around and start picking up applications. Ask the places where you want to work if they will hire a 14 year-old. Your best bet is going to be places like mall clothing stores and similar places. Fast food is probably your next bet. I would also recommend trying the local independent stores like you'll find in downtown areas. Many small and/or locally owned businesses are more likely to be open to hiring younger teens. Many chain stores are going to have specific company rules. You'll help your cause if you dress nicely and go into the store/business at a time when it's not really busy. Ask for the manager, but don't be a pest about it. For many businesses, the best time to go if you want to get the manager would be between 10:00am and 2:00pm - just avoid going around noon.

Most places require you to be at least 16 to work. Unless you have an "in" with someone at a store or restaurant, your chances of working are slim. You could try working odd jobs for people you know to earn extra money (helping out with yard work, walking dogs, etc...). See if any elderly neighbors or people you know need help with things. See if there are any recreational programs (afterschool, YMCA, Boys and Girls Club, etc....) that need help. You could always take used cans and bottles off of people's hands... recycle and get money that way. If worse comes to worse, there is always field work. That's about the only thing i know 14 yr olds can be hired to do. Your school has to sign some forms for you to do it.

I hate to break it to you, but at 14 there is no such thing as a "real job." I wouldn't knock paper routes or babysitting--those are jobs that carry responsibility and a paycheck, and since you're 14, your options are very very limited, but not hopeless. (By the way, how would you get to work?)
You could try Hungry Bear Cookies in Fig Garden Village. You can look in the Fresno Bee in the classifieds under "Workers Wanted." You can also try collecting aluminum cans, glass, and plastic bottles from your neighbors and your home and turning them in for money. (I'm not suggesting dumpster diving.) Keep in mind, labor laws restrict the age and hours a minor can work, so you may have to wait until you're 15 and then apply for a work permit.
You could try something as simple as working out a deal with your mom to do chores and receive an allowance. If your neighbors have dogs or cats, let them know you are able to walk their dog or "pet sit" for them if they go out of town. If you're really good in a subject at school you can try tutoring younger kids.
I remember being your age and being desperate for my own spending money because my parents didn't "give me money." But back then you could lie about your age and the only way you got caught is if your friends turned you in or you opened your mouth. I've worked everyday since then and wish I hadn't. I missed out on being a kid. My advice for you is to enjoy being young, have fun with your friends, and enjoy not being in a position where you HAVE to work. If I knew at your age what I know now....I would have waited to start working until I turned 18.
I miss having spring, summer, and winter break--you don't get that when you're working a "real job."
