If you're talking a ROOM ADDITION on an existing home...I'd leave it to the professionals. I think learning about it and actually doing it would require a lot from you.

Here, local ordinances require licensed professionals perform certain tasks in building. Permits, fees, licenses, inspections, etc., are all involved in building.

You'll find plenty of books on room and house additions at your local library, check it out. The web is not that great when it comes to plans & remodeling. Speaking of your library , last week this ditzy blonde walks into my library, she strolls up to the Librarian and says "May I have a Double Cheeseburger & a Medium Coke?"
The Librarian jerks her head up and says ,"Miss, this is a Library !" The blushing blonde then wispers, "sorry, may I have a Double Cheeseburger and a Medium Coke?
