I don't think marijuana is addictive in any way what so ever. When I was a teenager I smoked it and wasn't addicted to it. I didn't smoke everyday and I didn't feel like I had to. I know what addiction is like, I was addicted to pills for quite a few years and it was nothing like that. I've been clean for 5 years now and I don't ever want to see drugs again after what I went through over them and I still don't think it is addictive! Although I do think that smoking mary jane can lead to addictive drugs so I don't suggest you smoke it whether it's addictive or not.

It's not in the least bit addictive. Maybe if you smoke it with tobacco, you'd get addicted to that and probably mistake it as you're getting addicted to the marijuana; but you're not. Or maybe if you've gotten some dodgy MJ laced with crack or any other addictive drugs. But as far as Marijuana is concerned it is NOT addictive. Don't listen to half the ******** people tell you about it.

Not physically, at least not in the way alcohol is.

But a person can become emotionally addicted to something to get 'mellow'. People can grow up never learning how to deal with stress & avoid the problems that create stress if they are too reliant on pot.

NO and it doesn't lead to hard drugs either! In fact it is much safer than booze. I've seen mean drunks and killer drunks. I have never ever seen a mean pot head. First the THC in pot tends to make people more aware of their surroundings. In other words they become paranoid and will not do anything to bring attention to themselves. They also tend to become tired and relaxed. The old saying was...you have 3 people trying to get into a locked door. The 1st person is high on LSD so he's trying to float through the key hole. The 2nd person is drunk and is trying to smash down the door. The 3rd person is high on pot. He's just going to wait until someone shows up to open it.

You can find the National Institute on Drug Abuse rankings of the addictive qualities at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/library/basicfax5.htm In short, it is about as addictive as caffeine.

You can find a ton of other references on the topic at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer The reason marijuana is illegal has nothing to do with the addictive qualities, or lack of them. You can find the story of why marijuana was outlawed at http://druglibrary.org/schaffer/History/whiteb1.htm It is a fascinating, surprising, and funny story.

I don't. I've smoked on and off (mostly off) for thirty years. There's a time and place for everything. This doesn't happen to be the time just yet. But it's approaching. I don't know if pot will be legalized in my lifetime. But I'm sure it will be in my kids lifetime. It's silly. For sure it's no worse on you physically than booze.
