As with other countries, Greece is beautiful and the people are very diverse. To discover more about the people and its culture visit some of the links found at the site below. It is my dream to go there one day, but until then I can enjoy reading of and envisioning its beauty.

No I have never been to Greece but would love to go. It seems to me the culture is laid back and easy going. The people seem to be as friendly and open as in any other country Ive been told.

If you ever get to Greece, take a lot of pictures and post them! I'm sure the landscape is beautiful.

Greece here...
People are considered to be really friendly here but it depends on the city you are visiting...

Athens is like any european city in terms of its citizents. Other big cities are like that such as Thessalonica, Patras, Heraklio.

In tourist places most people are professional in tourist matters and will not hesitate to take advantage of the fact you know nothing about their place and the fact that you have money. But if they don't need your money they will be friendly and happy to explain anything you need.

Other than that, greeks are either really religious (greek orthodox) either wanna-be atheists (but they will go to any religious event). Again it depends on the place and the age..

Of course greeks are known world-wide for their all-night-long going out and having fun.. It's true that when we go out we stay out until 4-5 even 6-7am and go late to work but what's not true is that we dance all night long syrtaki and break plates (most of the times)..

Other than that you will recognize a Greek from the way he drives (not well-usually), the quantity of alcohol he consumes (a lot-usually), the quantity of cigarettes he smokes (a lot-usually) and a really bad english accent (though everybody knows at least to say "hello, welcome, rooms to let, my friend")

Oh! we also drink our coffee cold (ask for a frape) and have open air coffee places, restaurants, cinemas, theaters (not just the ancient ones) which are really nice during summer.

I hope that's enough information... :)

Hi! Greek people behave to the visitors according to the respect that they show. They are friendly and they like to give hospitality to the visitors. They are religious and they like freedom.
The friendship is very much respected in my country (I am Greek) and the word is like a contract.
You may visit one day the country and check by yourself our way of living.
