I bought this sweatshirt but its too big and its dry clean only. Is there any way to shrink it without messing it up?

Heres a pic of the sweatshirt

Why is it dry clean only? That's strange for a sweatshirt. The color may bleed together if you wash it. I wouldn't recommed washing it or the fabric could pill and then it would never look the same.

Although it seems like logic that improperly washing the sweatshirt will shrink the clothes to your size, what will really happen is that the shirt will shrink in one direction.

So you'll either end up with a lengthy short sleeve sweater or a long-sleeved short sweater.

Give it up or live with it.

Hmm, wash and dry it--it probably says "dry clean only" because washing and drying will shrink it.

No time to look at your link--I'm sure it's of a H-U-G-E sweatshirt. I have never, ever seen a sweatshirt that could not be washed.

Cool shirt. Do not wash it. It looks like the black and white colors will bleed together and ruin the whole shirt (which is why it is probably dry clean only).
Either sell it and buy a new one, or donate it and buy a new one

Whatever you do you may risk damaging it, the paint or whatever dyes used on it may be the problem, so heating the fabric which would cause it to shrink would not be good. Take it to the cleaners and ask if they have someone that alters clothing. They often do. They may be able to take it in and save it for you to wear and not ruin it. it's a gem. Really!

If I wanted to go shopping at karmaloop- I would. I object to being sent to sites I didn't request. Wash it in hot. Dry it on hot and donate it to Goodwill.
