The music you like already was heavily influenced by the blues. blues is more raw than that which you are accustomed to but it has more emotional depth and feeling than most musical genres. It can take a little while to get accustomed to a different kind of music, but if you explore the blues until you find the type of blues you like you will be rewarded with a lifetime of real musical appreciation and an understanding of music that is superior to that of your peers.

Try BB King, Muddy Waters, Son House, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Bessie Smith, Big Mama Thorton, Blind Willie Johnson, Leadbely, Mamie Smith etc. This stuff will take a bit of getting used to but persist and you will be amply rewarded and you will learn about life through this kind of music.

Mmmm, great taste for your age... :o)

Maybe try Suede, The Kooks, The Tears, Razorlight and The Fratellis - you may like those, too.

check out ...

*panic! at the disco (here are some good songs by them--but it's better if you do- i write sins, not tragedies- lying is the most fun a girl can have without taking her clothes off-build God, then we'll talk)
*fall out boy (i recommend all the songs on their albums take this to your grave-from under the cork tree--also listen to their new songs-this ain't a scene, it's an arms race-carpal tunnel of love)
*all-american rejects (i recommend all the songs on their album--move along)
*green day (listen to--holiday-boulevard of broken dreams-good riddance-wake me up when september ends-minority)
*red jumpsuit appartus (listen to--face down)
