For some reason my computer does not recognize my ipod properly. For instance you can not click on the "update songs on ipod" under file in itunes. So natrually I cant put songs on my ipod. My computer once mentioned something about needing to install the sofware that came with the ipod (nanno). But their was no sofware. any suggestions??? do I need to download something if so please direct me to it thanks

What I would do is this:

While iTunes 7 is installed:

1. Go to device manager (right click on my computer and click properties, then hardware and then click Device Manager)
2. Locate USB Devices, and remove the Apple Ipod device
3. Unplug the nano from the pc
4. Restart your pc
5. Plug the USB back into your pc
5. Let the New Hardware Wizard find your ipod, and direct it to the iTunes folder

Yes, that means you need to go on the apple website and find the software for the nano. When you bought the nano it came with a little pamphlet on where to download that program, go find it and go to that site mentioned.

Use iTunes....best way to handle your iPod. Sounds lame...but it is the only way....!
