the answer is A. The Articles did not provide for three branches of the government. It did do, however, B., C., and D

Of these, the only one it did was C, form a loose confederation of States. That means that a, b, and d are all things that it didn't do.

At the time, States were pretty much sovereign entities and this just allowed them a sort of equal status as a prerequisite for further structure by way of negotiation.

A, the Judial and Executive branches didn't exist and depending on your perspecutive, neither did the Legislative
