Nissan is a better car, I have been a mech. for 20 years and the Nissan wins hands down. One thing I cant say is if your Nissan is any good, this car is 6 plus years old and what did the owners before you do to it how was it treated. Look for mechanical maintenance logs. (poof it was taken care of)

1998 Ford Focus is a reliability nightmare from hell. Check Consumer Reports. I suggest you forget both. Go for a 1996-8 Toyota Corolla or a 1996-8 Honda Civic instead. If you must choose between your original two then the Nissan is the much much better choice.

neither really, they arent good cars, but the Sentra i'd chose over focus, ford is crap.
