You're brillant... tell her EXACTLY what you just said..." your voice is beautiful but when you don't know the lyrics it erks me because i have a strong pet peeve against that" If she's a friend then she shouldn't mind your critique and she should take your feelings into consideration.

So it's not a case of her sounding bad, it's just the case of you not liking when she doesn't know the words to songs. Why not just ask her to sing a song she knows, or if you know the words, sing it along with her. OR, just a crazy thought, you could just ease off her back and let her do what she enjoys doing, she's not hurting anyone. I suspect you need to rethink your motives. (Sorry if I sounded rude, I didn't mean to in any way)

Get over it! My friends told me I couldn't sing when I was in 6th grade and I have been embarrased of my voice ever since. Why would you want to hurt her? Leave it alone I'm sure you have flaws too- Do you want her to point them out? Be supportive to your friend.

When she starts to mumble just cup your hand to your ear and lean forward a bit like you're trying to hear better. She should get the mesage.

My daughter can't carry a tune in a bucket. We joke with her about it all the time so it doesn't hurt her feelings at all. She actually knows she can't sing and laughs with us now. It is actually funny to hear her sing. IT IS SOOOO BAD.LOL!!!!

You don't. Just like you'd be hurt if she posted the question "How do I tell my friend she's only a fair weather friend???" She would be hurt to read your question... Make a decision whether you'll be her friend no matter what... or not.

Just tell her that her voice is great..But most singers have song sheets so that they can remember the lyics.
