Hello I was looking thru and i just had to answer. Does ur husband want to drive otr(over the road) or does he just want to get his CDL's. If he wants to go otr Swift isn't all that bad. With no experince most companies require u to stay 1 year with them then the loan is paid off. At Swift they reqiure 150.00 down and then after u go solo or team they take 75.00 a week for 10 months then the loan will be paid off. And if u r not happy then u can go somewhere else and not owe them nothing. I took my training with them a little over a year ago. the training is not bad They rush u thru it but I learn alot. I've come to notice that no matter what u read or what others say about a training company most off them are the same. It's all about make them money. It's also what u put into it. The pay for starting out is low but so is most training companies. With no experince the will always be low. After 6 months goes up (if I remember right) to .32 cents a mile. But they also just started a sliding pay scale depending on the miles u run. U can ask Swift more on that. I no longer work for them because i was not getting the miles I needed and I stayed for 1 year so i did not own them anything. With all companies they have there (good & bad) please do alot of searching and ask alot of questions and deterime if it is ok for ur husband. U will get alot of people that have nothing good to say about any company. Good luck and if any ? please e-mail me

Think of the recruiters as Car Salesman. They are full of crap. As for the $150. I don't see why you would be complaining. If they are going to train you it is like a security deposit for the training. I paid over $7000 for my training. It was quite the return on Investment. All trucking jobs suck. I don't understand why anyone would want to work for a company like swift. They pay ****, They will run your dick right into the dirt. Get the training and get a local freight peddling job. At least you will be home everynight with the potential to make twice as much as you would with swift or any of them other scam artist OTR companies. What?... they will start you out with .24 a mile or some crazy ****. Figure it out. .24 a mile you legally only run about 650 miles a day whats that. $160 bucks a day. But now you are at a truck stop filling your pie hole. There goes about $15 of that with a decent meal and the shower usually runs $1-$5. Now you are down to $145 for the day. At least you won't have to worry about going home to tell your wife how bad you just got screwed, cause now you can sleep in your truck and get awoken by dumb asses scraping down the side of your trailer or pushing your mirrors in. 10 hours a day in the city grosses me $250 with O/T after 8. Granted it is all touch freight and it does suck. At least I can go home and slam down shots when I am done. Plus running in the city you will actually learn how to drive!!!

You know, my child's grandfather has worked for swift for a LONG time and has had nothing but good things to say about it. They were always good to him and his family. He lived in Rhode Island and had to take many trips to the west coast and got paid VERY well.

This is completely irrelevant butI live in Dublin, OH and Swift has a main hub in Columbus, OH and I see drivers all the time. It does sounds kinda fishy that they called you so quickly and they WANT money from your husband for him to WORK for them. Doesn't seem right in my book.
