Usually I am brought sweet iced tea. However I do drink hot tea as well. But here where I am at its rare to get hot tea at any restaurant. The south is all sweet iced tea!

Here in Arkansas, you get iced tea, and you get it sugar-sweetened unless you tell them your preference for unsweetened. They also put a dang lemon slice in there whether you want one or not.

Back in my home state of Oklahoma, you get unsweetened and if you want sugar, its on the table and you can sweeten it to taste. Dang lemon slices here as well..

Hot tea is available, but usually just a low quality teabag and a pot of hot water.

There's Vietnamese restaurant in OKC that has the best hot jasmine tea I have ever tasted.

where I live now(Wa.) they give you unsweetened tea with ice and don't even give an option for sweet.you just have to use the sugar that's on the table(not the same :( ). Back home where I used to live(S.C.) you would have to specifically tell the waiter/waitress if you wanted unsweetened and as far as hot,they'd probably look at you like you were a nut case. I miss sweet tea :(
