i live in malta now. lucky for you april is one of the nicest months. book a direct flight to UK and then down to malta (3 hours from UK). when here there are tons of historical things to see, cathedrals, museums and forts and palaces. worth seeing is the blue grotto (boat tour) and possibly a boat tour around the islands(weather permitting) if you have time get the ferry and visit the sister island (gozo) bring comfortable shoes and lightweight clothes as april is a great time for walking and sightseeing.

The best research would probably start at the National Tourism Website.

For airfares, it's going to depend on where you're flying from, but generally, UK to Malta flights are the cheapest.

For accommodation there are quite a few alternatives and I've listed the best 2 that i like.

Good for you, you'll see a very interesting country and in April is a very nice weather. If you can stay in Valletta( the capital), or in Sliema (a wonderful resort). From here, you can do a lot of beautiful trips.
