About a day before you shave, try something called Tend Skin. It helps to remove ingrown hairs. I personally prefer getting that area waxed by a professional. Of course it hurts as soon as the wax is pulled off and might sting for a little bit after wards. However, it lasts much longer than shaving. Also, if you decide to wax or continue shaving, the Tend Skin may help AND try to find a pure almond oil. The almond oil sooths the skin. I love it!

Make sure you wash real well first with hot soapy water. This preps the hair for shaving. Then lube the area (I use conditioner, but really, you can use anything-shaving cream, soap, shampoo, whatever). Shave in the opposite direction that you are doing now. I can't remember if you are supposed to go with the grain or against it. But if what you are doing right now is giving you this effect, you are going in the wrong direction. Using the lube first is also really important because that moisturizes the area and helps prevents those shaving bumps. Good Luck!

try shaving the day before you actually have to wear a swimsuit so your skin has time to calm down. Also, personal warning about do it yourself waxes. They are really painful(seriously, i get tons of tattoos and piercings but im never waxing there ever again.) Cream remover wasnt bad though. also dont shave against the grain as it is sensitive.

The best time to shave anywhere on your body is in a warm shower because the warm water opens your pore it stops razor bumps and bleeding
