How do you use an XBox 360 Wireless Adapter for XBox Live?

My 12 year old son is wanting to know before we go out and buy him one. I am clueless when it comes to todays game systems, sorry..... Any help any one of you could offer would be very much appreciated!

You have to have a wireless router to use it. You simply plug it in and have access to the internet. :D

...Or so we all wished. The above is still true, but you have to activate Xbox Live and pay a monthly fee in order to play. So, you will have to go through a set-up process. The adaptor is largely stationary, though; the rest you should be able to figure out thanks to the instructions.
