I've been on my so called period for almost one week now. It has been a dark brown color instead of the normal red. It's also not heavy like it usually is. With some normal periods, I would get the "old" blood at the end of the period

Something like that happened to me when I was 18. Up till then my period came every 7 weeks and lasted 10 days (far from normal, I know, but it was very predictable). Then that summer it started coming every 3 weeks and lasting 1.5 weeks, very light flow and mostly brown. I never found out what was wrong, when I went to the GYN at the end of that summer he just put me on birth control pills. When I finally went off the pill 14 years later, my period wouldn't come at all. So I would suggest that if your period stays "weird" for a few months, go see your doctor and find out why (don't just let him/her put you on the pill).

Mine does that too... It'll be a normal flow and color for like 3 days then for about 4 or 5 its just brown and gross looking. I have no idea why, but it happens to me too. It started that like a year ago.

I would check in with your doc & see what's going on, if this is not normal for you.
