Lots of people do that, but it's not necessarily easy. It can be hard, once you've been in the "real world" to go back to school. It's a whole different mind set. Not to mention you'll have to brush up on your math (math skills slip away really quickly, and any decent school you go to will require you to take at least one college level math course).

Now that said, as a college professor I have to say that some of my best students have been those that have come back to school after being in the "real world" for several years. They tend to be more focused and more dedicated students - they know what they want, and they know they need a good education to get it.

Make sure you give this a lot of thought (it looks like you are already) and talk to people who are in the fields you want to get into and get their opinions. In the end, however, it's entirely your decision to make. Good luck!

I'm 46 and back in school . This time I love it and I try harder than I did as a 20 year old. I've been going for three years. I'm not always the oldest in my classes either. Try taking mostly night classes if they are offered. The students will be older and more understanding about returning older students.
Good Luck!!!!

I went back to graduate school at age 43 -- getting a MBA just before turning 45 and a PhD just before turning 49.

Yes, there is no problem with going back to school when you are in your 30s. Just be aware of the costs.

It is always possible for people to go back to school at any age. Your life may be different but if you want it bad enough it will work.

Yes, in fact these days it's hard to avoid.

Worth checking out how to enrol as a "mature age student/adult entry", etc, for future reference.
