My betta are pretty darn picky and refuse to eat nearly any processed food with the exception of freeze dried bloodworms. If they have been brought up on pellets and such they'll readily eat them *nearly all pet store betta are used to pellets*. However, if they're spoiled (like mine) they won't touch anything but live food. If the nutritional value is what concerns you live food cultures are a pretty good way to go but it can get somewhat expensive.

Well mine never really cared, I guess they thought "food is food." But I usually don't recommend feeding any fish frozen foods for the reason that they still can carry parasites and other diseases.

My fish do however love their freeze dried treats, I feed them freeze dried bloodworms. I will recommend these for everyone who's looking to add variety. It is sterile and doesn't carry any bacteria or stuff. Plus I'm guessing it tastes good since they go crazy for it.

yes, any type of food that has been frozen has more calcium than food that has not, but lack in protein. and it depends on the individual wether they like certain types of foods, as fish might like flaks, crips, granules or live food.
