I need to know if my period is just late or if I am pregnant. I skipped my period last month...but I was also in severe stress so I have no idea if I am pregnant or if it was the stress. What are some typical symptoms of the first few weeks of prenancy? I am kind of confused because many of them are so similar to period symptoms such as tiredness, food cravings, and breast tenderness. Id really like an answer from a first hand experiencer!!

DO MOST WOMEN EXPERIENCE IMPLANTATION BLEEDING??

Pregnancy signs and symptoms occur either at the time of a missed period, or a week or two later. Symptoms include missed period, fatigue, tender and swollen breasts, implantation bleeding, nausea and or vomiting, food aversions, frequent urination, and increased sensitivity to odors. Not everyone experiences symptoms, and some people feel some but not all symptoms. Implantation bleeding occurs a bit earlier than expected, and it is scanty, spotty, pinkish and not red and heavy like a period, and does not follow the normal pattern of a period (light to heavy to light).Your best bet is to wait at least two weeks after a missed period, and see your doctor for a blood pregnancy test as this is the most accurate way of testing.
Not everyone notices implantation bleeding when it occurs.

Well, I'm in my second month of pregnancy already, and the only "symptoms" I can blame directly on my pregnancy are breast tenderness and acne. Some things that may or may not be related to my pregnancy - stomach aches (but not morning sickness), tiredness, dizziness, and mood swings.

I've seen many lists of possible pregnancy symptoms, and they all caution that some women feel *no* symptoms at all, and other women have many of the symptoms and aren't pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to take a pregnancy test (either one you buy at the drug store or one at your doctor's office). If you've already missed your period, a pregnancy test should give you a definitive answer.

Hi Lauren C. Don't know if this will help, but I first knew I was pregnant because I bloated right up in my stomach. More then is usual with menstruation. I also had the typical symptoms that you have already mentioned. There are many good pregnancy tests in drugstores now. They can tell you if you're pregnant right away, even if you are only a few weeks along. Sorry but a test is the only way of really being sure. Good luck.

3 kids later, yes its the same symptoms as your period, my advice is get a pregnancy test, even from the dollar store if necessary. stress will delay periods you already know, but if your thinking your pregnant, your body will act pregnant believe it or not. my youngest is almost 2 and sometimes if im late, and think i am, i still get milk, and sometimes get fluttering in my belly like i was when i carried. to ease your mind, get a cheap test, and if its negative, you'll probably start the next day because you confirmed what your wondering. another way though, since its been 2 months since your last, only if your thin, you can lie on your back and feel right above your hair line down there, and push somewhat hard [on an empty stomach] and see if you feel maybe a baseball size knot. i did. or if you lay on your stomach across someones lap or something like that, and its painful, thats another likely sign. thats how i knew the second pregnancy. laying on the couch with him on my belly and ouch did it hurt. badda boom, baby..... something unfamiliar to your body. and i wasnt really even late yet i just knew that i never had that pain before. good luck
