P.S. to the Dalls Stars guy: I'm probably the only fan in Buffalo who thinks Afinogenov is a big fat idiot. I hate him! That doesn't change the fact that Ovechkin's a jerk, though :-P

i never played or watched hockey.but i registered for fantasy hockey because it was there.--so i did.--i have briere and afingonev and i quickly have learned the nuances of the game.--it has made me such a fan that ive seen my players on my fantasy team play by going to the panther games here in florida.-- i saw briere last month and afingonev- i like them a lot--they are good through all lines offense and d--thats important that they can score from the other lines

i did not i must admit and i am a fan i wil only be happy if they at least go to the cup i dont want to see a sens choke job that would suck or a wings choke job they looked lousy last night against the leafs even though they won i would like to see them improve the are giving up wayyyyy to many goals they need to sure up their defense mabey a nice trade to get somone before playoffs.. and vech is a tard and a half why do those hicks even have a team. they dont know shite about hockey only thing they know is how to suport a winner lets see them go to the rink when they have a season when they dont make the playoffs..NHL never should have moved the team from minnisota..

So? Being first overall is irrelevant. Did the team that finished first overall win the Stanley Cup last year? Do they most years? What counts is (a) making the playoffs, (b) winning at leats a round and (c) getting to the Final and finally, hopefully, winning it all. The regular season is only for hockey pools not to see who finishes first.
Relax. Enjoy the good hockey but the real hockey starts mid-April.

oh I think that they are just like the senators in the past years
they were the first in conference but they lose in the playoffs ...
it is a little early to say that. but I have bad felling about it especially when they lose all the four games with the Senators and the last lost was really tough (( 3 - 6 ))
Anyway the sabers are really good team this year, they are now far away from the Canadiens by 10 points. and the team is playing his best season ever.

Once the ducks get two of the top defencemen back from injuries, along with their starting goalie, they'll take the lead back.
