Are you kidding me?

It would have been better with better direction with acting for a start. The lead performances were flat - but the supports were great. I cannot say that the lead actors though are to blame as they have past films that reveal their capabilities - this befalls on Ron Howard.

But really - the editing was crap too - way too long. It was like a shot would last way longer than necessary - cut it and move on. The pace needed to be picked up.

The music was brill - no complaints there.

Flashbacks were unnecessary. Think of the plane sequence. Was it necessary to show us that they walked from the plane to the car - surely even the dumbest audience could figure this out without being shown it.

Overall - a great book - great potential - but a cinematic flop. The budget was massive and demanded much better results. Very disappointing for experienced filmmakers.

I read the book, but haven't seen the movie yet.

I don't really mind that it was completely made up. It was still a good mystery. I'll watch the DVD soon, just haven't had time.

I heard the movie wasn't as good as the book, but that's almost always the case with good books.

I thought it was ok. The book was pretty good, but I had already learned about the gnostics and Mary being married to Jesus so it wasn't shocking at all.

Very good.
I think Harrison Ford should have played the character portrayed by Tom Hanks though.

Pretty good movie. I enjoyed it a lot more than I did the book anyway.

I LOVED IT! Read the book, that's good too. It dovetailed with my beliefs, as it were.
